Stewardship
Stewardship: The Voiced Legacy Philosophy
To be invited into a family’s history is a profound privilege. We approach our work not merely as filmmakers, but as stewards of your generational narrative. Our Stewardship protocol defines the ethical, artistic, and inclusive standards we uphold during the creation of your archive.
I. Museum-Grade Preservation
We treat your family’s story with the same reverence a curator applies to a historical artifact.
- The Master Archive: We capture and master your portrait in the highest cinematic fidelity, ensuring the visual and auditory quality remains pristine for future generations to inherit.
- Physical Artifacts: Any physical media or hardbound companion books are crafted using archival, acid-free materials designed to withstand the test of time.
II. Inclusive & Authentic Storytelling
Our interviews are designed to be therapeutic, deeply authentic, and unconditionally welcoming.
- An Inclusive Tapestry: Every family is wonderfully complex. We approach each commission without assumptions, honoring the diverse structures, blended histories, and unique dynamics that make your family’s narrative entirely its own. Our role is to create a space where every chosen voice feels safe, valued, and authentically represented.
- Honoring the Narrative: We do not manufacture drama or manipulate context. Our editing process is strictly dedicated to distilling the truth, wisdom, and genuine character of the subject.
III. Generational Ownership & The Archival Footage
A legacy belongs to the family that lived it. The allocation of your history is a cornerstone of our philosophy:
- The Final Material: Upon completion of your commission, you retain full private ownership of the final cinematic portrait film. It is yours to keep, share within your Vault, and pass down.
- The Archival “Raw” Footage: We believe in the profound historical value of the complete record. As outlined in your specific commission tier, the comprehensive interview footage is preserved and delivered to you. This footage is lightly edited solely to remove prolonged silences, technical glitches, breaks in filming, and instructional dialogue from the interviewer. This ensures a seamless viewing experience while guaranteeing that every meaningful spoken word—even those that did not make the final cinematic cut—remains in your family’s possession forever.
IV. The Generational Promise
We build archives designed to outlive us. By combining redundant, secure digital hosting with tangible, physical heirlooms, we ensure that your family’s cinematic portrait will remain safely accessible to the grandchildren of your grandchildren.
